UPDATE – We had a great, all be it chilly, time supporting runners during the Tunbridge Wells Half Marathon, Sunday the 2nd March, organised by the Tunbridge Wells Harriers.
Set up outside The Royal Wells Hotel, we strummed the runners on to the finish line, about 1.5 miles away.
It was windy! Song books, microphones and a video camera all toppled over, fingers froze, but we carried on!

2012 was a great year for TWUNT, but incredibly 2013 was equally great!
It all started with a gig at the Forum, now fairly familiar to us J
Highlights of 2013?
Our biggest gig yet, hosting a Big Night Out at the Vic. We had the pleasure of inviting The Keston Kobblers Club and we even joined them for a “You Go”. Numerous TWUNTs took to the stage, some playing their ‘other’ instruments too.
One highlight wasn’t enough. December saw another, the TWUNT Christmas song The Golden Balls of Christmas. Penned by TWUNT Will MacNeil, we managed to record it and get it on YouTube, with the aim of encouraging people watching it, to donate to the Philippines Typhoon appeal. It was great fun, raised funds for a worthy cause, and the chorus even got and airing on Chris Evan’s Breakfast show on Radio2.
A new concept was introduced to TWUNTs called TOSSERS (TWUNT Official Songbook Suggestions for Editorial Review). Every TWUNT we play suggested new additions to the song book. Anyone can suggest, pretty much anything and it’s quite a laugh playing a song on mass first time. If it goes well, the song’s in the book for good.
September saw our first Open Uke night at the Brickworks Tavern, the refurbished original home of ours (The High Brooms Tavern). It gave a few TWUNTS the chance to have a go playing a solo, duo or quartet, without the usual 30 strong backup. We’ve since done another one, and are set to do more, as the TWUNTs grow evermore braver.
In May we celebrated our 3rd birthday in traditional TWUNT style – how fast has that come round.
July and we had the pleasure of playing Gazastock – this time the sun was shining J
Had our first Summer TWUNT BBQ July at the Cross Keys Pub
We even had the pleasure of playing at a wedding, which was wonderful. It was a complete surprise for the guests and they loved it. Who’d have thought wedding guests would get on down to TWUNT? They danced us proud to Born to be wild on the coach

At the end of 2013 we celebrated another year of wonderful TWUNTing with a Christmas Party.
Visit our TWUNT YouTube Channel for these and many more clips of TWUNT, including some of the fore mentioned Open Uke sessions.
Earlier this year, one of the TUWNTs (Will) decided to write a Christmas song. Before the song was properly finished, we all saw the terrible typhoon disaster in the Philippines.
This got Will thinking – wouldn’t it be nice to use to the song to raise funds for those affected by the Typhoon in the Philippines, and so after numerous tweaks and practises in sheds and pubs, we finally came up with the song and video you see below.
Please pass this one to everyone you know, and don’t know, to help us help those who’ll not have the Christmas they were hoping for.
